Most people these days can do without a checking account, it’s so much easier to keep a savings account and just use a debit or credit card when making purchases whether you’re in a store or shopping online. A lot of stores won’t even accept personal checks anymore anyway, which makes them really only useful for paying rent, or bills by mail. With online banking I can pay most of my bills instantly without having to leave the house.
