Local yard sale on FB is fun to watch – especially when the prices are right – but once in a while you have people asking for prices that I would sell the exact things for in a store – so it’s no longer a yard sale find.  These set of Guitar Heroes and games are a good find – unfortunately, I already have too many of the same items in my store – else I would definitely buy it.  As a store owner I can’t afford to pay so much for stuff – but if I was buying it for myself – definitely a great deal.  So when people come in and sell stuff to me – and I quote them a certain amount – and they don’t like it – they really don’t have to sell it to me but instead they choose to be ignorant and call me a rip off.  While I don’t really care about what I’m being called – the spouse on the other hand is different – she wants to smack them for being rude and having no upbringing at all. She said that people like that back her hometown are called kids with a mom but no dad around – therefore – they don’t get taught properly.  Some whipping would do these people good she said.  LOL!

I see several multiplayer achievements in the list so I’ll have to delve into that soon to see what it’s all about. There’s also some related to building a village. 0 I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a complete shit-fest RTS like Brutal Legend, or personalized doormats level of detail like a Sims game. Owning a village as a way to make money and get better upgrades would be cool, but if it takes over a good chunk of the game then it could start to suck. At least I don’t see a “visit all locations” achievement this time around, although one of the secret ones could turn out to be that. I hope not, that was brutal in the first Two Worlds.

The game follows the plot of the movie, old man Carl, tired of sitting around collecting social security benefits decides to take a trip to see a place that he and his late wife always dreamed of visiting. He flies there with a bunch of balloons strapped to his house, and like in the movie, he and Russell (the boy scout who gets dragged along) have to drag the house around with them through most of the game.

It’s a pretty short game and a very easy one, like the various Lego games, if you die you just pop right back in very close to where you were. The “hardest” part involve dog ambushes, but even those are pretty easy if you’re not horrible with timing. I ran through the game in just a few hours and racked up 615 gamerscore, I’ll probably run through some parts again on the weekend in co-op mode with the kid in order to finish off the full 1000.

The thing with these games though is I don’t feel they’re worth buying new at full price. There’s absolutely no replay value once you’ve beaten it all and it’s solo slim mode only, no multiplayer or DLC available and no harder difficulties to choose from.

After finishing off Fatal Conspiracy I popped in one of the older ones, Deadly Intent, and it plays exactly the same although there were some nice improvements to the interface in Fatal that are missing in Deadly. It’s more gruesome so far, which is cool, the first case involves a dead bride with a big piece of broken glass protruding from her neck.

It looks like this one will be another easy 1000 though, and I’ll probably get around to playing through Hard Evidence at some point too.

We are very careful these days when it comes to selling “M” rated games – “M” rated means mature games – that sometimes include violence, nudity and blood/killing. We are careful – not only because it is by law we cannot sell “M” rated games to minor but we cannot in good conscience turn a blind eyes and make the money because we are greedy.  Just like doing apidexin reviews reviewers I am sure take them seriously too and like them we don’t want to recommend something that is not suitable.

Integrity is very important in our kind of business – and we are also more vigilant now because the spouse had accidentally sold a copy of War Of World to a 14 yrs old who looked like 17.  Little did she know – plus she wasn’t paying attention to the rating – because the kid came in with a purpose – propped the exact amount and left very quickly.  It was only a few days later – his mother came online on FB to tell us off – that we were made known of it.  But parents should first talk to their kids because kids will be kids – they are rebellious and if they see their friends playing it and you don’t allow it – that he should resort to buying it and tricking the clerk on the counter – then seriously – as parents we should definitely sit our kid down and talk to them – and not call the poor store/clerk names.

We deal with lots of customers everyday – and as hard as we try – if the store is busy – we are only human and we too err.  But because of that particular incident – we are on a RED alert.   So in a way – we have to thank this unreasonable/irate mom.

Bioshock 2 is ramping up to be quite nice though after sinking a few more hours into it and finally getting some upgrades. Some of the enemies still wreck my shit completely though and cause me to burn through all my health kits, but at least they are tougher than normal monsters so it makes sense. Having the right ammo for the job makes a huge difference too though, I encountered my first bomb & turret chucking version of the Big Daddy last night, but since I had 2 clips of armor piercing rounds I was able to take it down easily with hardly any damage to myself.

Now with the new 360 slim having the HD built in like the PS3, you can’t just easily take it with you anymore so it really is good that they allow the use of flash drives now. I’d like to get one of the new units, but I think I’ll wait a while to see if they have any massive hardware issues like the old versions did.

I don’t even want to get started but some people are just a pain and definitely need some Acneticin. Why? they are not only crooks but they are crooks that are so ignorant – you really wanna smack them. A crook rented a game from us a month ago and instead of returning it and pay up his lates – he told us that he was going to keep the game for free – since he didn’t want to pay his lates. Today he was online selling our game that he had stolen on a yardsale. Of course, we stopped him – informing everyone that they didn’t belong to him. He had the cheek to call us to say that he called the cops on us???!!!?? the crook who stole from us calling the cops on us – WHAT IS THE WORLD BECOMING? The crooks are bolder than us? how ignorant this crook is.

I’ve been playing the game for 8 hours so far, and while it was a little slow starting it’s ramping up to be pretty good. The story, as with most FF games, is getting quite deep and involved and is sure to be one of the best things about the game.

Does nutrisystem work? I have no idea. Does the combat system in FF13 work? Sure does! Honestly, I really really miss the golden days of turn based combat where you have time to think and plan your attacks, but the overall feel and speed of combat in FF13 makes up for the lack of nostalgia. Most of the time I find myself just hitting the auto attack button, but needing to change paradigms several times in each battle keeps it from getting boring. I like that battles aren’t random invisible encounters as well, and it only takes a second or two before and after each battle unlike older games where you had to wait 10 to 15 seconds for the battle to load. Every battle.

Oh and as for which version I went with, definitely PS3 for this game. lensoftruth.com had a head2head posted on release day and it’s very obvious that the PS3 version blows the 360 out of the water. Textures are smoother, cinematics are amazing and shadows are more realistic, to name just a few of the things that make it better on PS3. The 360 had a couple of places where it looks better, mainly with the rendering distance, and if all you own is a 360 then get the game anyway, it will not be disappointing. But if you have both systems and an HD TV then PS3 is the way to go this time around.

I might have to wait a couple extra days and see what The Lens of Truth has to report about the differences before I pick this one up. Another factor to consider will be load times. I’ve found the 360 to be much faster with loading than the PS3, especially since I can install games to the hard drive.
