We are always looking out for high tech stuff – just like the wife looking for best diet pill all the time - so when we saw this recommended at Apartment Therapy – of course – the wife also had to take a look at it. She is like the kind who wants to look cool without being too technical – but you know where I’m coming from right. And at the price of $24.99 – you can really go wrong at Quirky. As I’ve said before it’s cordless – so it’s safe even in a baby’s room – and it wakes you up by lighting up the LED light in it and sound. And what’s good about cordless alarm clock? when the kid needs to get ready for school, she can bring it in – and time herself – and you don’t need to go shouting at her first thing in the morning and hurt her feelings – like the wife said – i’m so getting it!

This Joule work stand for the iPad is not only stable but has a solid base but made so simple with clean and elegant design. Easier to use and it sure makes your iPad stands out when you need to use it in the kitchen or even outdoors when you are enjoying the sun and having a sandwich. No worries about it tipping over your iPad because the base is solid aluminum – use it on your desk top or kitchen counter or anywhere flat. Great present because you can even have it engraved. Unfortunately, it is a wee bit expensive for my liking – at $129 !! But I’m sure it would sell out soon because only limited quantity i heard.

When your kid goes to a video store and buys a “M” rated game, do you blame it on the video store owners or do you teach your kid not to lie and not to do something you don’t approve of? As a parent myself, I asked myself what i would have done in that situation? I definitely wouldn’t go kick up a fuss and call those people at the video store a crook nor blame them for my kid’s conniving ways. I would definitely sit my kid down and explain to him or her what she did was wrong and to apologize to the video store owner and then asked politely if i can get my money back with a 20% retention fees for their inconvenience.

That would be what a normal parent would/should do but nope not in this town of ours. Instead of teaching their kids, they come breathing fire down our throat and called us a crook *slap forehead*. It’s like someone selling a stone sink to the wife and i didn’t liked it but instead of talking to the wife – i bring it back to the store and throw it back at their faces. What is the world coming to these days? Parents wonder why their kids turn out the way they do – now here is an example.

On my 5th call to Fuckershop my ‘problem’ with my order was escalated a 3rd time. What does that even mean anyway? Escalated to what? The guy says “This time we should hear something because I’m going to be very description in my report to show just how long this has been going on and how long you’ve been waiting for an answer.” Wow. Thanks guy! That’s instills so much more confidence in me regarding the support process going on at Fuckershop!

I bet I could take that Orlando vacation I’ve been planning, come back 3 weeks later and STILL not have my new TV. Oh and get this, he says if I haven’t heard back by Monday that he will change the delivery escalation to a credit escalation so I can get my money back. Fat lot of good that will do though since it was paid mostly by gift cards, I can’t just take my money elsewhere. And now there’s also no chance of getting such a good deal like they had during boxing day. A 52″ LCD for $1199? Doubt that’ll happen again until next Christmas. Yay for me, I get to just keep on waiting!

There’s an online yard sale facebook group for around here and sometimes there’s good deals to be had. But with nearly 7000 members you have to be quick if something good gets posted cause chances are it won’t last long. In a lot of ways it’s better than driving around on the weekend going to real yard sales. For one, you don’t have the hassle of driving around looking. For another, it’s a wide variety all in one place. I’ve seen people selling old trinkets, new video games, pets, electronics, clothes and even advertising their businesses. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a Plano dentist advertising a weekly special or something next. I’ve sold a few things on there myself and overall it’s great. No eBay/Paypal fees to deal with, no shipping to do, just post some items and if someone wants to buy just arrange a place to meet.

I’ve been wearing Crocs in the summers for the last few years. They’re comfortable even though they’re a little ugly, but the main problem I have with them is that once the soles wear out they become very slippery when walking on wet pavement, particularly on painted sections like crosswalks. Aside from that they’re great little shoes, very light and I can stand in them all day and my feet don’t hurt a bit. They’re kind of expensive too, especially now that even the dollar stores carry decent knock-offs, so I did some searching for coupons for ordering Crocs online

I was browsing the main website earlier and was surprised to see that they have a lot of new styles available that I hadn’t noticed in the local stores. Winterized Crocs complete with fake fur linings (and minus all the holes) would be perfect for outdoor use when the weather turns cold in a couple months. So put those Crocs coupons to good use and treat your feet to something sweet.

Wireless mouse is the in thing in our store and the wife would love one of this when it comes out in August by Microsoft. The Mobile mouse 6000 was recently released in conjunction with a similar 5000 model. Both use BlueTrack and are comfortably sized without being too bulky to cart around. The 6000 features Microsoft’s first nano transceiver, which extends only 0.8 centimeters from the computer’s USB and stores handily inside the mouse itself. But the Mobile mouse 4000 is quite similar but comes in 5 colors and is powered by a single AA-battery for 10 months, the 2.4GHz wireless ensures connection up to 15-feet. I better do more Clinicallix reviews, so that i can buy one for the wife when it comes out.

I’ve been carting my 360 back and forth to work fairly often lately. At first I was just carrying it in one of those grocery store “green” bags, but sometimes it rains and winter is coming soon too so I wanted a better carrying case that would protect the system better. Worrying about the nasty old Red Ring of Death is bad enough without also being concerned about it getting damaged in transit. So I went looking around for a proper case and found a nice one made by Samsonite that was on sale for $10. They make good luggage so I figure this should be decent quality too.

I was surprised to find some good but cheap t-shirts online and when I saw this one I had to order it. Most of my current wardrobe consists of gaming shirts that had been sent to me as promo items when I used to sell games. That was a few years ago though so it’s time to freshen up the closet. I Don’t Give a Rats Ass is only $10, can’t beat that!

A lot of people we know having been popping out babies lately, that time of year I guess. Not all are having their own though, some are adopting baby girls from China. I must commend them on their decision, it’s certainly not cheap to adopt and they are giving the babies a much better life than they would have known otherwise. Regardless of how these babies came about though, it always means me and the wife need to go shopping for more baby gifts. That’s ok though, it’s nice to return the favor since these same people have treated our lil’ monster so well over the last few years.

I met my wife online many years ago, and after several years of typing back and forth and phone calls, she came to visit during Christmas, 2000. Shortly after she went back home I took a trip over there to visit her and spent 5 weeks in Asia. I spent the bulk of that time in Singapore, but we traveled to Bangkok, Thailand for a few days and also spent a few days in Hong Kong on the way back to Canada. There are some truly unique gifts and decor pieces from South East Asia, items you can’t normally find around here. Dragons carved from teak sawdust, gold mesh plates with dragons and pearls and various figurines are just a few of the things I brought back with me.

While browsing a website with pictures can’t compare to actually wandering the outdoor markets and haggling with the vendors, Asia Pelago is a great alternative for those who won’t be actually traveling to Asia but would like to decorate their home with unique and interesting items.

You can get pretty much anything online these days, oftentimes cheaper than you could at a brick & mortar store. Provided you don’t mind paying for shipping and waiting a week or two for your purchases to arrive. Online shopping isn’t for everyone though, some don’t like to use their credit card online, and impulse buyers don’t like to wait, but getting things like Overstock coupons which save you even more money make it a mighty tempting place to shop sometimes.
