First match is over and it was definitely more fun than reading diet pill reviews, I won the match 2-0. Here’s to hoping rounds 2 and 3 go just as well. I suppose it’s not the greatest, playing swiss, since even if I win all 3 rounds I get 3 packs whereas with regular drafts you have a chance to win as many as 8 packs. Gotta come in first to do that though and if you lose a match you’re done, so your chances are much better with Swiss.

Looks like my deck was too fast, the other games in round 1 aren’t even done yet.

I originally had it configured with mostly red since that’s the common land destruction color and gives you the best fat burners like Incinerate, Lightning Bolt and Fireball. But it felt too generic and that’s why I went with the green/blue combo instead. It’s also an enchantress deck, since there’s so many blue land enchants I figured some Verdurans for drawing power and Yavimaya’s for killing would be the way to go. It’s fun regardless though and I’ll keep tweaking it as I go.

Having said that though, the system does have a few good exclusives that make it worth owning. I’ve long been a fan of the Ratchet & Clank series and you just can’t get it a non-Sony console. There’s a few interesting looking RPG’s that I haven’t played yet, but plan to some day, those being Folklore, Dark Kingdom and Valkyria Chronicles.

I’ve managed to find all 4 minion types and progressed through several missions including the slaughter of the half elf half tree Oberon. I found another mistress but decided to keep the one I had, and then blew all my money to fancy of the tower of evil to her liking. I applied for some sales manager jobs in the hopes that my control of an army of evil minions would be enough proof that I can manage a crew of employees. I seem to have run off on a tangent here..

Anyway, back to the Understreets, I need to find my upgraded forge so I can replace this steel armor, it’s getting rusty.

Gotta keep saving up so I can get the basement done, hopefully by next summer. Paint one wall white so I don’t need a screen, paint the other walls and the ceiling a dark color to enhance the overall effect. Throw down some home theater carpeting and upgrade the sound system to 7.1 and I think I’d be all set. The biggest problem I foresee is the amount of cables running to the back of the room, unless I have all the gear at the back wall next to the projector. Then you have to keep pointing the remote backwards, hmm, this is gonna need some more thought.

I’m at the point where I’d like to give real drums a try, but I don’t know anyone who owns a set. Being a drummer in a band would be more exciting than being a futures broker or something, that’s for sure. But, I’ve never been one for public speaking or being in front of crowds, so for now I’ll just keep rocking out in my living room.
